Fearsome is in Low Power Mode!

What's that mean for you, discerning pixel poker? Most likely, what you see is what you get. Some parts of the site may not be working 100%, and there's a possibility that if it's broken, it might stay that way for a while.

If you can't log in to your account, drop a line. We should be able to reset your user flags.
If you can't get the applet to run, make sure your Java installation is up to date, and make sure you're drawing with ChickenPaint; the other applets are mostly deprecated, and might not successfully post your art (if you can even load them up at all).

Just kind of doodled to see what would come out. Funny how every time I draw a bride or anything marriage related, it always turns out kind of sad looking. =P

Toyed with using one overall pallet, that and I'm just gay for teal and green. Erg I didn't realize how small it was until after I zoomed back out.

She's so being forced to marry the tall skinny guy with the top hat and the handlebar mustache, I just know it. D=

Wow! This is amazing... I can't think of anything that should be different. What stands out most is the composition. I really like that the flower is off-center... There's a swirling kind of motion going on that starts from the center of the flower and winds itself right back from the right.

maaaang, that's so fresh. the color are so rich i wanna nibble on this picture. you really nailed the texture on the petals and the smooth way they appear... and the background adds a ton without distracting the eye from the central subject... though honestly it would take a lot of horrid color and gnomes or something to do that. mmmm. lovely.

Hormones called auxins cause gravitropism in roots through their interaction with dense statoliths which sink to the bottom of the cell and effect the polarity of active auxin carrier proteins (possibly due to cytoskeleton disruptions). This change causes auxin to be transported downwards. As the cells at the top have a lower concentration of auxin, they elongate more, causing the roots to bend towards the force of gravity. Auxin has the opposite effect in stems, causing upward growth.

Nice drawing. Sorry for the science guy moment, but I instantly thought of that when I saw this picture. For some reason, to be a doctor I have to understand how plant hormones work.

at first I thought this was a spleen or a pancreas or a kidney.. the colors are very biology textbook! then I noticed the little guy leaning against the trunk. : )

Wow Gendaru, I never knew that. I honestly had no intention of my picture making sense. But hey :]
Hunsvotti @ Saturday, April 26th 2008, 10:26 PM

I didn't realize that plants had hormones. The only things I remember from taking botany about ten years ago were something about monocots and dicots, and that taking a sample of a succulent plant and sealing it to a notecard is an exercise in futility.
Gendaru @ Sunday, April 27th 2008, 11:34 AM
avatar
Plants even have some hormones that may have partially developed before they diverged from animals. Some insects freeload those messengers to decide when to molt. When the plants are having a good year, the insects consume more growth-associated hormones and molt (thus growing) more often. Oh, and Viagra makes cut flowers last longer, because it interferes with the same enzyme that exists in plants. In humans the enzyme suppresses the erection response, in plants it causes wilting.

The more of this shit you learn, the more laughably impossible it is to ignore evolution.

I also thought brain when I saw this picture too.

I like the muscle definition! as someone mentioned before, that's a pimping arm. the calf on the darker girl looks kind of hueg (it's as big as her thigh!) as does the shine that's kind of a V along the pelvic bone and hip... I didn't think the contours ran that way, but I'm no good at that stuff.

This is what Gruntilda should look like in the next installment of the series. After becoming gorgeous, there could be a "Black & White" element added to the game, where Banjo either remains loyal to the animals or shows the stunning witch his affection for her. Nice pic, makes you really wonder what one of her "scary stripteases" and touching Grunty's booty be one of those plays on words you'd find in a sitcom.

Hey! That's kinda cool :O I love her hair, especially how you have it curled against her face. :o <3
DS @ Wednesday, April 16th 2008, 7:45 PM
For some reason, she really reminds me of Dr. Girlfriend.

Gorgeous style! I especially love the eyes and lips. Great color in the hair.
The only thing I don't know about is the outline to the shading.

I like that effect, myself
Naill @ Wednesday, April 16th 2008, 11:13 PM
I actually love outlined shading, but I think it would have pulled everything together more if you had done that with all the shading, not just the bit on her face.

haha i don't think enough people do outlined shading, it's a blast.

really really nice.
Iuvo @ Friday, April 18th 2008, 3:48 PM
I like it. Dig the outlining of shadows. I think I'd like it a lot more if the lineart on her eyelashes and bangs of hair was cleaner - It would fit the neatness of the outlined shadows better. Right now it doesn't seem to match in style.
